Tata group announces the 7th edition of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz for Singapore'ssharpest young minds
Singapore’s most popular annual business quiz for students organised by the Tata group is back
The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is a part of the initiatives of the Tata group to engage with the youth. It is a knowledge initiative to encourage lateral associations, speed of thought and out-of-the-box thinking.
Singapore, November 7, 2013:The Tata group announces the launch of its 7th annual edition of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz in Singapore. The quiz seeks to bring Singapore’s sharpest young minds together through a business quiz that tests their speed of thought and lateral thinking capabilities.
The year’s edition promises to be an ultimate test of business intelligence with the best of infotainment. It will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at University Cultural Centre Hall, 50 Kent Ridge Crescent. Mr. Vikram Sud, Regional Head of Operations & Technology, Citi Asia Pacific will be the Guest of Honour.
The quiz comprises of multiple visual and audio-visual question rounds from the world of business and economy, including business houses, personalities, brands and markets, among other exciting topics. It will be conducted by renowned Quiz Master, Mr. Giri Balasubramaniam, popularly known as ‘Pickbrain’.
The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz made its international debut with the Singapore edition in 2007 and is a unique platform that offers Singapore's student community an opportunity to enhance their decision making skills and encourages swift creative thinking in competitive scenarios, along with valuable networking and great prizes.

The quiz is open to all college student teams above the age of 18. Students can register for participation in the quiz by logging on to the website www.tatacrucible.com/sg . The top eight scoring teams will be chosen from a preliminary written round and a quick wild card round (teams comprise two participants each from the same college/university). The top eight teams will then battle it out for the championship. The top 2 teams will be invited to participate in the international finals in India in early 2014.
The winning teams will together take home cash prizes of Singapore $ 12,000.*
The distribution of the cash prizes is as follows:
- Winning team: A cash prize of S$7,000*
- First runner-up team: A cash prize of S$3,000*
- Second runner-up team: A cash prize of S$2,000*

Besides the cash prizes, teams will take away exciting goodies like digicams/tablets and Tata Crucible merchandise for the finalists and attractive prizes for the audience.

Tata Crucible seeks to bring together the sharpest young minds to take on the heat of a challenging business quiz. The Quiz made its debut in India in 2004 and successfully generated a huge response in the very first year itself. It has since become an annual event.
The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz made its international debut with the Singapore edition in 2007. It offers Singapore's student community a unique opportunity to involve themselves with the subject of international business, in an engaging and intellectually stimulating manner. The 2012 edition saw strong participation from campuses across the city-state, including NUS, SMU, NTU, SIM, S P Jain Center of Management and others, with SMU taking the top place. The winning SMU team of Poon Jia Wen and Aaron Wong Xuan Ming and Runners-up NUS team of SriharshaBhat and Karan Prasad were invited to compete in the international finals, held in Mumbai earlier this year.The UK edition was launched successfully in 2008 and the 5th edition saw the participation from 30 leading UK universities and colleges
Since 2009 to broaden the scope of the event, the concept of the grand International Final was conceived as a face-off between the top two teams from Singapore, UK and India, which is held in June quarter each year.The international finals held in India after Tata Crucible Campus Quiz India 2013 saw some interesting moments where the team from IMT Ghaziabad was announced the National Champions from India and Symbiosis Law School, Pune emerged the overall International Champions of the Tata Crucible.
