Yahoo India and Tata Elxsi registered wins in their respective tracks of the quiz at Bangalore to make it to the national finale. With over 150 teams from both Tata and Non Tata companies battling for the slots in the final, it certainly was a tense prelim on a typically overcast Sunday afternoon at Bangalore.

The first couple of rounds in the Tata Track seemed close but once the buzzer came into play defending champion, Tata Elxsi with Ajay Rao and Sandeep Soni showed why they have been undefeated for the last two years. Titan represented by Arun Narayan and Sachin Mathews finished runner up.

The non Tata track after the first two rounds was a two way battle between HSBC and Yahoo and it went right down to the final question when Yahoo pulled one back to regain lost ground and seal the game in their favour.

The quiz was conducted at a brisk pace by the quizmaster who engaged the crowd in an amazing manner with his wit and quick remarks that were equally complemented with creative “incorrect” answers from the teams and audience alike which makes quizzing so much more enjoyable.

At the end of the day, it was a Sunday afternoon spent well.
