Nagpur happens to be one of the younger locations for a Tata Crucible. With a lot of young teams taking part, it seemed natural for these teams to be rather tense and tentative about the event.
The prelim was a smooth quick fare and six finalists emerged to take the stage for the finale.
The final started with the Ghate Associates, Persistant and TCS getting ahead in quick time with the duo from Ghate also losing ground equally fast with negatives on the buzzer.
The other teams scored in bursts but could not find too many opportunities on the buzzer with these three teams in a neck and neck battle.
The defending champions Persistant were too strong for the others as they slowly increased their grip and held their own to win the quiz. The team from Ghate had to claw their way back and outbeat the others to finish runner up.
The guest of honour Prof. Sailesh Gandhi, Dean IIM(A) and mentors for IIM Nagpur, spoke of the importance of the city and appreciated the teams on a good display of knowledge.
