The final was a very closely fought battle with four teams going neck and neck, J Thomas (a tea export duo), Vodafone, Airtel and Greenshield an NGO all battling hard for the honours. As the quiz progressed quickly for one round to another the tension simple grew on and turned out to be an edge of the seat entertainer.
In the final round of the quiz, the NGO duo came back from behind to stun the rest of the teams with some amazing answers that powered them to the top spot as the first ever NGO to win a Tata Crucible.
The remaining three teams battled through a tie breaker that was eventually won by Airtel. Loads of humour and great crowd involvement marked the quiz as the audience came up with not just the right answers but a lot of witty ones as well.
It finally proved to be an evening that marked the debut of quality quizzing in the North East as all those present urged the organisers to make this an annual stop over. From the quality of the quiz and the audience one would believe this quiz is here to stay.
