Ahmedabad, Aug 19, 2008: Wow what a quiz! was the overwhelming response at the end of a fantastic final at Ahmedabad. Questa Software stamped their class by winning the quiz yet again, while Vodafone finished runners up followed by Triton. The audience were the one’s who profited the most with the number of prizes that were won by them. Cracking some deadly posers were the large number of IIM-A students who were there to test fire their arsenal before the campus edition unfolds in 2009.

The quiz began at the stroke of six and after a common prelim for the 54 teams, the six teams that made it to the final were.

Vodafone (Ahmedabad) – Hemang Gharekhan & Sunil Singh Rana
Thermax (Baroda) – Aanand SR & Venkatesh U Rao
Triton Communication (Ahmedabad) – Mahesh Manjawala & Mayur Rana
Vodafone (Ahmedabad) – Susim Mohanty & Nikhil Soni

The final looked evenly poised for the first three rounds but as the quiz moved into the buzzer zone Questa played rather aggressively and took calculated risks to move ahead of the rest. It prompted the quizmaster to observe they had learnt from the close finish they had a year ago to not let things hang till the end.

In the final round, it was a battle for the second spot between Vodafone and Triton while Thermax was not too far behind. However, team Vodafone (Hemang Gharekhan and Sunil Singh Rana) managed to hang on and finish runner up. The winners won a cash price of Rs.75000/-. The duo from Vodafone won Rs.35,000/- as runnerup.

A truly riveting evening of quizzing with some amazing questions and brilliant quizzers both on stage and in the audience.
