It was time for edition ten of Tata Crucible across India while the quiz marked its second year at Trivandrum. The excitement was a lot more than a year ago with teams better prepared and with greater clarity on what the questions would be like. Pickbrain walked in, quizzed all the teams with an array of 20 questions and set the stage for the finale with the following six qualifiers.
The quiz was fast paced and all the teams did well early on. As the buzzers started playing a role the three teams that moved ahead were ISRO, Alliance and ACIS. ISRO looked good to move further but they lost points in a couple of rounds and could not recover from that. In the mean time McFadayen and Allianz moved ahead backed by some good answers.
In the final stages some brilliant answers from IOCL brought them back into the reckoning but it was too little too late as they had too much ground to cover. In the interim ACIS drew level with McFadayen while Alliance got further ahead to clinch the title. In a tie breaker that followed for the second place, McFadayen were quick to crack the answer and win the runner up title.
The guest of honour Mr. Mr.Damodhar Padhi, Global Head (Learning and Development) TCS appreciated the teams and said “The culture of the Tata’s is to foster a learning environment and I am happy to see that here”.
