Campus Quiz Results - Mumbai – IIT Bombay triumphs

The Mumbai edition of the quiz had 145 teams battling through the prelim. Pickbrain decided to have only one wild card round given but that gave the opportunity for two teams to make it to the final.

The top six at Mumbai were:

  • NMIMS: Sharadh Manian and Karthik
  • ITM – Navi Mumbai : Soubhagya Jena and Anirban Mohanty
  • KJ Somaiya: Anil Prabhu and Anant Singhania
  • Thadomal Shahani Engineering College: Kunal and Gaurav
  • NIFT: Bhavik Gandhi and Amit Tripathi
  • IIT-Bombay: Prashanth Sampath and Vaibhav Devanathan

The final as always at Mumbai turned out to be a thriller. A packed auditorium with a lot of corporate quizzers in attendance added to the thrill of the final. The rounds moved quickly and so did the teams. However, as the buzzers came into play the teams from IIT and NMIMS were locked in a tight battle. In the last couple of rounds a few superb answers from KJ Somaiya brought them back into the race and with one question remaining three teams were in the race for the national final.

The quiz ended in a tie between IIT and NMIMS with IIT Bombay winning the quiz. The beauty of result was the fact that a year ago IIT Bombay had lost on a tie breaker to NMIMS.
