Every record is meant to be broken is a phrase Lucknow takes rather seriously. The city created history with a record 314 teams taking part. They created another first as quizmaster Pickbrain (for the first time in Crucible history) had to do two sets of prelims.
After all the excitement of the prelim and the two wild card rounds that followed the stage was set for the final.
The final started as an even field but as it moved into the buzzer phase, the IIM-L teams just started accelerating and demonstrating why they are the best in this region as they powered their way through the buzzers. The quiz went down to final question settling the issue between two IIM teams.
The guest of honour Mr.Jayant Krishna (the head of TCS Lucknow) advised the students to raise to the challenge of uncertainties and reminded them that ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going’. Quizmaster Pickbrain acknowledged the wonderful work by team TCS that had helped in generating the record participation, it was also nice to see him applaud the wonderful behaviour of the crowd and the way they adjusted in the over packed venue. At the end of it all for a wonderful evening of quizzing, at Lucknow, no one was complaining – they were asking for more!
The quiz was fabulous. The questions, the arrangements were all mind blowing and so was the quizmaster.

Quiz was on par with the Tata Crucible tradition…intriguing, exciting and with a lot of “oooh” moments. Good luck with future editions.
