The Kolkata game of the 2019 campus edition of Tata Crucible got underway at the beautiful Amity University campus. The match kicked off with over 200 contestants. The prelim was tricky, with Ms. Rashmi Furtado doing her best to give the teams something to work around. The following made it to the stage rounds.
Super Over
THE TOP SIX (FINALISTS)
In the super over the legendary quizmaster, Pickbrain anchored the teams with crafty questions that led to a team each from St. Xaviers and Heritage making it to the top six.
The final saw a clinical and mature display of quizzing by the IIT KGP team who got into a lead early and kept the momentum right through to win the title. The other teams started late and could not find too many big hits to chase IIT down.
The only team which moved ahead was ICAI, which to its peril did not play high values and missed hitting the buzzer on questions they surely seemed to know the answer to. They, however, assessed the situation well to play for the runner up position.
The chief guest Mr. Suresh Menon, Vice President and Head of Eastern India for TCS and the guest of honour Pro-Vice Chancellor of Amity University Kolkata, Dr. Ankita Chakraborthy, both encouraged the teams to have an eye on their future with a strong focus beyond classroom learning to be successful.
