BITS Goa get ahead
The digital edition of Tata Crucible for campuses has seen the emergence of new clusters that are a combination of previously individual locations such as Nagpur and Goa. The institutes in these regions have historically taken part in the quiz with great interest and enthusiasm. This year too, the participation from this cluster has been of a high quality. Ms. Rashmi played out a very balanced set of wild cards for this cluster to identify the six finalists.

Cluster Finalists Were
  • Taha - Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law
  • Diplesh - VNIT Nagpur
  • Ratnakant - BITS Pilani Goa Campus
  • Piyush - IIM Nagpur
  • Priyanka - Goa Institute of Management
  • Prayag - BITS Pilani Goa Campus
The final saw a mix of aggression and caution from the contestants as Pickbrain went about hosting the final in a clinical manner, dishing out one question after the other at a rapid pace. As the quiz moved from the early stages, it was Taha, Diplesh, Ratnakant and Prayag who were battling for the top honours.

As the quiz progressed, Prayag consolidated his position to clearly emerge the winner while Piyush came back in the end to push for a tie breaker, with Diplesh for the runner up title. The former cracked the poser to finish second. Prayag, still in the first year of his graduation became one of the youngest champions to progress to the round of 24.

Vincent Edwin Ramos, Area Director – Indian Hotels, Goa, appreciated the contestants for an outstanding performance and recalled his own association with the quiz across locations in India. He reflected on how the quiz was a meeting of India’s best young minds, echoing the ethos of the Tata Group to empower the future generations and build a nation that one would be proud of.
