Close to 200 students from across Bihar were a part of the Patna edition of the quiz. The city is known to produce champions that are very good and can go the distance in a national championship. Quizmaster Pickbrain had to negotiate a lot of selfie requests before he could even start the quiz. He was businesslike from the word go, setting a good pace. The teams that made it to the final were:
FINALISTS
The final started with the law students registering initial gains, but their refusal to deploy the power play on questions they knew well, started affecting them soon. The team of Sayon and Rohit from NIT, in the meantime, started powering their way through using the power play judiciously.
Soon the team from NIT with Vishal and Vivek started closing in on the aspiring lawyers. This put them in a spot where they had to choose to chase down Sayon and Rohit or play out carefully and win the runner up prize. They played prudently to finish runner up, while Sayon and Rohit retained their title from a year ago, to march into the zonal.
The guest of honour Dr. S. K. Verma, Dean Student Affairs – NIT Patna, gave away the prizes and appreciated the professional manner in which the event had been organised.
