Campus Quiz Results - Jaipur – BITS, Pilani triumphs at Jaipur

Happy Valentine’s Day! let us celebrate the love for knowledge was a witty opening remark by quizmaster Pickbrain as he unravelled the Campus edition of Tata Crucible 09 at Jaipur. This was the first time Jaipur was hosting this mega quiz. The enthusiasm was reflected by close to a 100 teams that turned out for the quiz. It was also heartening to see a lot of people from colleges and corporate houses as part of the audience.

The prelim featured 20 questions and was followed by a wild card round for the teams that finished 5th to 10th in the prelim. From these the top two qualified for the final and joined by the top four teams to define the Jaipur line-up of the quiz.

The Jaipur Finalists were:

  • Malaviya National Inst. of Tech – Sumeet Seth & Ashwin Bharadwaj
  • Suresh Gyan Vihar Univ. – Manish Mohan & Devansh Saraswat
  • BITS, Pilani – Shailesh Jha & Rishabh Kaul
  • Banasthali University – Amisha Pareek & Sonal Mittal
  • M N I T – Anuragh Choudhary & Abhinav Kumar
  • Jaipuria Inst. Of Mgmt. – Kirti Sharma & Prashant Kumar

The final witnessed a very close battle till the fourth round of the quiz but in the final round BITS Pilani forged ahead to win the title. The girls, Ameesha and Sonal from Bansathali University were in second spot, but in trying to catch up with BITS they lost 10 on the buzzer to end up in fourth but were applauded by Pickbrain for being sporting and positive. A tie breaker ensured Anuragh and Abhinav of MNIT won the second place while Malaviya Inst of Tech (Sumeet and Ashwin) came in third.

The winners will now travel to Mumbai for the national and international finals.
