Corporate Quiz Results - Visakhapatnam – Vizag Steel sweep their debut edition
The inaugural edition of the quiz at Vizag was a battle between the power house of quizzing, Vizag Steel and the challengers. It was an interesting prelim that led to new teams with excellent scores that raised the bar to challenge the Vizag Steel teams. The finalists were:
- Hindustan Petroleum : Gopinath and Manish Kumar
- Vizag Steel : Rahul J and A. G. K. Murthy
- Nano Mindz : Amarnadh and Lingaraj P
- Vizag Steel : Sudhanshu and Abhijeet
- Vizag Steel : Ravi Chand and Rahul Kumar
- Vizag Steel : Sabyasachi Pani and Santanu Dey
The final began as an even battle with HPCL, Nano Mindz and a couple of Vizag Steel teams getting off the mark early on. The buzzer phase of the quiz was where the momentum started to grow and the Sabyasachi -Santanu duo started moving ahead of the rest.
In the next couple of rounds, A. G. K. Murthy and Rahul fought back well to get within striking distance of the leaders but could not find enough power to cross them. A late comeback by Nano Mindz resulted in a tie breaker between the Murthy-Rahul duo and Nano Mindz while Sabyasachi Pani and Santanu Dey sailed into the national finale with ease. In the tie it was the Vizag Steel team that did well to win the runner up title.
The guest of honour Mr. Mahipal Singh, GM of The Gateway Hotel – Vishakapatnam congratulated the teams and spoke of the “power of knowledge and how man as an animal was supreme because of this power”.
