Jamshedpur, September 7, 2007: Celebrating their centenary in style, Tata Steel stole the show at Jamshedpur edition of Tata Crucible. This quiz was only for the employees of Tata Group and over 90 teams converged at the Tata Auditorium for what is dubbed as India’s toughest business quiz.
After an absorbing prelim, four teams from Tata Steel, one each from TCS (Kolkata) and Tata Power made it to the final. Five rounds of quizzing followed and it seemed like all the teams were keen to make the journey to the national final.
The scores were even, as the teams moved from one round to the other. The audience played its part by cracking some tough posers to win themselves an array of prizes. Quizmaster Pickbrain appreciated the enthusiastic participation by college students, who were in the audience, especially those from XLRI who won themselves a handful of prizes.
In the final round of the quiz it came down to a decider between Tata Steel (Deepak Kamath and Siddarth Mishra) and TCS (Trishit and Bhavin Zaveri), the former winning the quiz on the final question to ensure the Steel giant a place in the national final.
Dr.Mukherjee of Tata Steel, appreciated the high quality of quizzing and gave away the prizes.
