The extraordinary city of Jamshedpur where the journey of Tata Crucible began played host to another edition of the quiz. Like the witty quizmaster, Pickbrain quipped "It is like an annual Steel conference where steel is not discussed" referring to many steel giants from the region who take part. A tough prelim led to the final six.
Bokaro Steel: Debabrata Chowdhury and Rajiv Gautham
JUSCO: Deepak Kamath and Ayan Lahiri
SAIL: Srimanth Mallick and Sampad Mishra
Bokaro Steel: S.W Kispotta and Anand Raj
Rourkela Steel: SS Panda and Ravi Bangare
Tata Steel: Mohit Bhatt and EG Khan
The final witnessed a brisk start by a seasoned Tata Steel team that was quickly onto a lead but could not hold that momentum. What followed was a powerful display of quizzing by SAIL Ranchi that went about unleashing one answer after another backed with tremendous preparation. They left no stone unturned as they went past the 1000 mark and won a memorable victory.
The other teams played well but it was only Bokaro Steel with Subhashish and Anand that crossed Tata Steel and went on to score 800 but had to still settle for the runner up position in a city where quizzing talent is huge.
As always, the quiz witnessed children from the schools of the city in the audience winning their share of prizes. The chief guest Siddharth Shah Chief HRM Raw materials Tata Steel spoke of the need for continuous learning in an ever-changing world and also the pace of change necessitating the same.
