A packed Crystal Ball Room at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai on Sunday afternoon is no surprise even in a city like Mumbai that normally stays indoors on their weekends, given that this was the big final of the most prestigious quiz on campuses.
The final witnessed a close battle between LNMIIT, TAPMI and IIFT in the early stages. After a while the duo from IIFT started pulling away from the others backing themselves with some outstanding answers and they just did not seem to look back at all winning the title, a purse of 7 Lakh and ‘Bolt’ each from Tata Motors. The battle for the runner up title went down to the final question with LNMIIT clinching the same on a very crafty question to make it to the international finale.
In the international finale that followed the game was no different with IIFT continuing their outstanding form even as the challengers from Singapore tried their best to get into the game but could not sustain the momentum. IIFT riding on its strength soon closed out a double with the international title in their kitty as well.
The guest of honour was Mr.R.Gopalakrishnan, Director, Tata Sons and the mind behind the creation of the quiz, recalled the initial meeting and the way Tata Crucible was created a decade ago.
