Navi Mumbai happens to be one of the youngest locations for a Tata Crucible since its introduction a year ago. The teams therefore seemed rather tense and tentative about the event. The prelim was a smooth quick fare and six finalists emerged to take the stage for the finale.
FINALISTS
The final started with the DMCE duo blazing their way to a score of 230 in quick time and in equally rapid succession lost 225 while the ICAI duo had about a 100 odd but took no negatives.
The other four teams scored in bursts but could not find too many opportunities on the buzzer with these two teams in a neck and neck battle. ICAI then came up with some really good strikes to build a strong lead. DMCE , however, came back again in the same fashion and were threatening ICAI who held their own to win the quiz.
The team from Ramrao Adit Institute in the meantime had closed in on the DMCE duo to challenge them for the runner up title but the DMCE boys prevailed.
The guest of honour Mr. Madan Tripathy, VP for HR and Business Excellence, Rallis India, spoke to the youngsters on how they should identify their strengths and work on it and not get bogged down. He also handed over the cheques to the winning teams and wished them well in the next round.
