Campus Quiz Results - Indore – IIM wins as Indore creates record
The highest turnout in India for this year’s Crucible is a record Indore would be proud of though it came with the caveat that big cities like Delhi and Lucknow were still to follow. A reasonably tough prelim saw teams dig deep into their minds to crack the posers.
The teams that made it to the final were::
- Inst of Engg andTech (DAVV University): Himanshu Pal & Ms.Kuljot Saluja
- IIM Indore: Shyam Naren & Saikumar N
- IIM Indore: Keerthan & Abhishek
- IIPS (DAVV University): Yadvendra Singh & Arpit Yadav
- IIIT Jabalpur: Ashish Chandel & Sundaresan
- IIM Indore: Rahul & Ishang
The quiz began with the duo from IIM (Shyam and Saikumar) getting off to an early lead and then building on the same in the next round. A few good answers and IIIT Jabalpur were also in the hunt. They were quickly joined by the IIM duo of Rahul and Ishang.
The buzzers resulted in a few negatives for IIIT Jabalpur which made them lose some ground with Shyam and Saikumar. As the lateral thinking round unfolded, the other IIM team with Keerthan and Abhishek came up with three superb answers to suddenly pose a threat to the IIIT Jabalpur team.
Caught in a dilemma on whether to chase the leaders or fight for the second place, the otherwise consistent IIIT team gambled on the final question to miss the second spot by a whisker to Keerthan and Abhishek. The IIM team of Shyam and Saikumar did nothing silly, displaying great maturity, composure and focus to just get themselves into the final.
