The western zonals have traditionally been a very tough terrain in the history of Tata Crucible. It was no different this year and the signs of it were clear from the first round as ace quizmaster Pickbrain raised the bar and took the quiz multiple notches higher. The teams that battled included Infosys from Chandigarh that took permission to play at the West due to official duties.
The final was easily the best of the season in many ways. The media duo from Goa were off to a quick start playing high values. It turned out to be invaluable as they took negatives in the later stages and the early leads cushioned their cause. All the teams were locked in a tussle that could not be settled until the final question of the quiz. Even on the final question five of the six teams on stage had a chance to make it the national final.
It was an afternoon chequered with outstanding performances from UBS, IndusInd, Infosys. In the end, it was Hanning Motors and Savoire Faire that made it to the national final. The chief guest Mr. Rajiv Sabharwal, MD& CEO of Tata Capital gave away the prizes. He spoke of how learning being honest to your company and community are the pillars of success in the modern world we live in.
